Lebanon Youth Baseball Association:
To provide a healthy environment for the youth of our communities. Our focus is to encourage participation, develop character and discipline, promote teamwork and advocate being a good sportsman with community pride. We strive to provide quality instruction in the development of baseball skills. We are committed to enriching the lives of our youth and fostering a love for the game.
Lebanon Little League, Inc., doing business as Lebanon Youth Baseball Association, LYBA, is an association formed to provide instructional baseball to boys and girls ages 3-12, grades preschool to sixth. A child wishing to participate in LYBA’s regular season must have at least one parent or legal guardian that resides in Lebanon, West Lebanon, Plainfield, Meriden, Enfield, Canaan, Dorchester, and Orange New Hampshire. All children in the local area are welcome to play in our Summer Sandlot Developmental Leagues. This would include Lebanon, West Lebanon, Plainfield, Enfield, Canaan, Dorchester, Orange and Grantham, New Hampshire; as well as Hartford, and Norwich, Vermont, provided there are no similar programs in their town.
LYBA is operated by 11 Board Members, over thirty coaches, and many parent volunteers to prepare the baseball fields, operate concession stands and coordinate fund raising efforts. All adults (except umpires) are volunteers, and therefore receive no compensation for their many hours of help. Umpire pay is set before the season starts for 2 positions: Home Plate Umpire and Base Umpire. Umpires are paid differently for each position, and based on the merit of their Cal Ripken Officials certification.
LYBA maintains two fields in Lebanon and West Lebanon: Smith Field on Maple Street in West Lebanon and Logan field on Water Street in Lebanon. LYBA owns Smith Field; while the City of Lebanon allows LYBA the use of Logan Field.
LYBA is a member of the Cal Ripken baseball organization. We currently offer instructional and competitive levels of baseball based on age and skill:
